Frequent questions

Before contacting us, please find below some answers to our most frequently asked questions. If you could not seem to find the answer you were looking for, please do not hesitate to call us and we will happily answer any inquiries.

What are the payment options ?

We accept Nepali Rupee, Indian Rupee, Euro, US Dollar, Cheque, Bank transfer and credit cards Visa, Mastercard (card payment has an extra fee of 3.5%)

Reservations and cancellations

All bookings will be confirmed by sms or by e-mail. We only require a deposit of 30% for groups over 7 rooms. Cancellation of reservations must be made in writing. Any cancellation made by telephone must be followed by an e-mail or sms

How can one reach the hotel?

We can organise vehicles to the resort either in a room package with a minimum night stay or as an extra cost. The drive is truly spectacular with beautiful views to be seen along the way. 

We have an assortment of vehicles including a van that can carry up to 9 guests, and we have a network of contacts as well, which allows us to help you find the best transport at the best price.

What can I eat at Charikot Panorama Resort ?

We have room packages that include meals or otherwise there are plenty of options A la Carte. As all our food is fresh, we require you to inform us each morning if you will take dinner and pre-order for how many.

If your dinner is included in the rate, expect a set-meal that changes everyday and varies from Swiss specialties to Pizza or Nepali Thali.

Carrot Soup starter

Mashed potato
Pan fried mixed garden vegetables

Green salad with house dressing

 

Another example is a Nepali Thali Set:-

Rice / Dal / Saag / Paneer curry / Aloo tarkari / Achaar / Papad / Jhol Masu / Nepali Salad

 

Dinner is between 6.30pm - 9pm

Do children stay for free ?

Children under 3 years of age stay free of charge

Is there any discounts?

We give discounts on

- packages

- long-stays of minimum 3 nights

- over 7 room group bookings
We also give special discounts to Nepali, NGOs, corporate, and guests on non-tourist visas

Is there Air conditioning in rooms?

Our rooms do not have AC. They have electric heaters for the cold winter and do not need fans or AC in the summer as temperatures do not exceed 23°C and with a high altitude the overall weather is quite cool.

How many nights should we stay to maximise our trip?

3 nights is perfect to visit Dolakha Bhimsen, Khuri and Kalinchowk shrine and still enjoy the morning and afternoons onsite. Guests love to play board games, play with our dog Jessi or read our books and magazines in one of many of our cosy common spaces. If you visit Jiri as well as Dolakha and Kalinchowk, please consider the distance to drive to Jiri and back is 5 hours.

Can I bring my pets?

We love to meet your fluffy friends and have plenty of outdoor space for them to also enjoy. We however require prior notice and can reject your request if we already have other pets at the same time. Lastly we also have our own pet dog who can be kept inside if there’s any risk.

Does it snow in Charikot?

No, snow falls a few 100m above Charikot and also sometimes in Mude, on the road to charikot from Kathmandu

Do you organise trekking?

Yes, we have a choice of short and long treks in the Gaurishankar Conservation Area with beautiful off-the-beaten tracks, a real paradise for trekking, click here to see a few routes

Do you have vegetarien and vegan options?

Yes, our staff cater to all dietary requirements

Do you have parking facilities?

Yes, our parking is located 100m from our hotel and in a closed space, padlocked at night. The trail from the parking to our hotel is a narrow dirt road and slightly steep, we advise you bring good shoes for your safety

Do you have handicap access?

We have a stretcher for anyone who needs help to come up the steps from our car park, this needs to be booked when making the room reservation. For general access, our property is not wheelchair friendly
